The 10 best restaurants in Troy, NY
Downtown Troy has a lot of good restaurants within a few blocks of River Street, Broadway and Fourth Street, and the Saturday farmers market around Monument Square is a good reason to come early. This list is for Saratoga County readers heading down for dinner or a market day and for Troy locals looking for a change. The list runs from a 1976 red-sauce room in Lansingburgh to a Korean kitchen and grocery on Ferry Street, Venezuelan arepas on the river and a bakery that makes Finnish rye.
Every restaurant here is inside the City of Troy. Several well-known places with Troy mailing addresses, including spots on Hoosick Road and North Greenbush Road, sit in Brunswick or North Greenbush, so each address was checked against state boundary data. The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market moves indoors to the Troy Atrium on Nov. 7, according to the market.
How we chose
We looked for independent restaurants with a steady local reputation, local press coverage and staying power, and we checked every address against state and federal boundary data to confirm the restaurant sits in the City of Troy. Each one was confirmed open as of Oct. 20, 2026, from the restaurant’s own website and a 2026 source where one exists, such as a state health inspection, a news story or a live ordering page, and hours and prices come from those pages. Chains were left off. The list is unranked and in alphabetical order, and no restaurant paid to be included.
Hours, prices and dates below come from each business or official source and change without notice. Call ahead if you are making a special trip.
