The Town of Halfmoon is a Saratoga County town on the east side of the Northway between Clifton Park and the Hudson River, with Town Hall at 2 Halfmoon Town Plaza off Route 236. The land was bought from the Mohawk in 1667, and the town’s Route 9 and Route 146 corridors have filled in with housing and retail that share ZIP codes with Clifton Park and Mechanicville.
Town government runs building and planning, highway, parks and recreation, the town court and water and sewer districts. The Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway runs through the town along the Mohawk River, and the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library serves both towns.
