Specialty Silicone Products, SSP, is a silicone materials manufacturer at 3 McCrea Hill Road in Ballston Spa. Four employees of GE Silicones founded the company in 1989 after spotting niche markets that no commercial silicone product served, and SSP has since formulated and manufactured more than 1,000 silicone compounds. The company is now part of HEICO.
SSP makes its own spec-grade elastomers and runs an in-house toolroom, laboratory and manufacturing plant. Products include EMI and RFI shielding silicones, military and aerospace silicones, EMI gaskets and O-rings, fluorosilicone sheet stock and custom compounds, and the company positions itself as a strategic partner for sealing and insulation problems rather than a parts vendor.
