High Rock Park

High Rock Park is a small city park at 112 High Rock Avenue, at the north end of downtown Saratoga Springs. It is built around High Rock Spring, where, according to local history, the Mohawk brought an ailing Sir William Johnson in the 1700s.

Governor and Peerless springs flow nearby, and the park’s pavilions host the Saratoga Farmers’ Market on summer Wednesdays and Saturdays. The park is also home to Tempered by Memory, the city’s 9/11 memorial, a 25-foot sculpture made from World Trade Center steel.

What to know

• High Rock, Governor and Peerless springs are free to taste.
• The farmers market meets here from May through October.
• Tempered by Memory was dedicated in 2012, and the city holds a remembrance ceremony here each September 11.
• A survivor tree grown from a seedling of the Ground Zero pear tree stands near the memorial.
