Viva Empanadas – Saratoga Springs

Viva Empanadas is a Latin restaurant at 26 Congress Street in the Congress Plaza shopping center in Saratoga Springs. The restaurant is the third location for owner Veronica Agama, who grew up in Ecuador and started the business selling empanadas in a Queens park before opening at the Galleria 7 Market in Latham and on North Pearl Street in Albany.

Empanadas come in a long list of fillings, and many use corn, plantain, yuca or cassava doughs that are gluten-free, with several vegan options. The menu also runs to arepas, Cuban beef tostones, shrimp ceviche, Cuban ropa vieja, churrasco, a Cuban sandwich and desserts.
