The 10 best golf courses near Saratoga Springs

Golf around Saratoga Springs runs from a state-park course whose first holes opened in 1936 to a Roger Rulewich design on Union Avenue that charges $320 for a peak tee time in race season. Between those two sit a lake course with a par 4 over a pond, a Gansevoort course with an airstrip between the fairways and a town-owned course in Greenfield where twilight golf costs $12.

This list is for golfers who live here and for visitors with clubs in the trunk. Every course is open to the public at least part of the week, all are within about 30 minutes of downtown, and each entry gives the 2026 rates the course posted and how far ahead you can book.

How we chose

We picked public and semi-private courses within about 30 minutes of the city that take public tee times, confirmed each was open for the 2026 season from its own website, and pulled rates, yardage and booking windows from those same pages. We mixed championship courses, municipal and nine-hole options so the list covers most budgets. McGregor Links, which became a private club in 2026, is not included.

Hours, prices and dates below come from each business or official source and change without notice. Call ahead if you are making a special trip.
