The Victorian Streetwalk

The Victorian Streetwalk opens the holiday season with a free evening on Broadway on the first Thursday after Thanksgiving. The 40th Streetwalk is December 3, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Santa parade at 5:50 p.m., the city tree lighting at 6 p.m. in front of Putnam Market, street performers and dancers in shop windows. Downtown parking fills quickly that night, so arrive early or walk in.

The Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees fills the Saratoga Springs City Center during the Victorian Streetwalk with more than 250 decorated trees, wreaths and holiday items, all part of a fundraiser for Catholic Charities of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties. Visitors can browse raffle baskets and shop the Holiday Shoppe for gifts. Admission has been $5 during the Streetwalk in past years. It is a warm stop between outdoor events.

Chowderfest

Chowderfest is the city’s signature winter event, run by Discover Saratoga on a Saturday in early February. In 2026, about 80 restaurants and businesses served 4-ounce cups of chowder for $2 each, Broadway closed to cars and free shuttles ran from the Saratoga Casino Hotel. Visitors vote for favorites in the Discover Saratoga app. Bring small bills, arrive at opening and explore participating restaurants beyond Broadway.

The winter farmers market

From November through April, the Saturday farmers market moves indoors to the Lincoln Baths at 65 South Broadway in Saratoga Spa State Park, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 1930 bathhouse makes a handsome winter setting for local produce, meat, cheese, bread and baked goods. The market, run by the Saratoga Farmers Market Association, has been operating since 1978, and many regulars shop it all year.

New Year’s Eve downtown

Downtown Saratoga Springs closes the year with a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring live entertainment and fireworks, according to Discover Saratoga. Details are announced each fall. Universal Preservation Hall

Universal Preservation Hall books concerts, comedy, speakers and family shows year-round in an 1871 High Victorian Gothic church at 25 Washington Street. Residents saved the building from becoming a parking lot, and it reopened after a restoration completed in 2019.
