Wheatfields Restaurant & Bar is an Italian-American restaurant at 440 Broadway, at the corner of Caroline Street in downtown Saratoga Springs. The Loiancono family opened the restaurant as The Wheat Fields in 1988, and Tim and Colleen Holmes have owned and run the place since 2004.
Pasta is made by hand every day, and the owners say about 95 percent of the menu is from scratch, including bread and wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. The one-pound handmade lasagna and the chicken sausage scarpetta are the dishes regulars order, and there is a full gluten-free menu. The Holmeses doubled the space with a renovation that added a bar and lounge, and opened a second restaurant, Wheatfields Bistro & Wine Bar, in Clifton Park in 2009.
