The Saint Kateri Tekakwitha National Shrine and Historic Site is a sacred place of peace and healing dedicated to the first Native American saint, on the grounds where she was baptized and lived most of her life.
What to know
- Grounds are open sunrise to sunset daily May through October.
- Saint Peter's Chapel and the Native American Museum are open 9 to 5 in season.
- Mass is Saturday at 4:30 and Sunday at 10:30.
- The Caughnawaga Village site was rediscovered in 1950.
- It is Catholic but welcomes people of all faiths.
